Default 68/79 motor swap

Hi all, I am contemplating buying a 1968 GMC 3/4 ton and a 1988 chevy 3/4 ton as a package deal for $2000.

The GMC is is excellent condition except for the motor, the 327 has a blown piston, the clinder has no pressure reading. The engine probably needs a rebuild. Now, the 1988 chevy (tranny is going) has a 350 from a 1979 K10. So, ideally I should be able to take and drop in the 350 and bolt it into a TH350 thats in the 68. Is this a simple swap, or is there some jerry-rigging that has to be done?

I can post up extra details and photos later.

I would suspect that you will need some "jerry-rigging" to make it work, but the good news is that engine bay of the 1968 will provide plenty of room to work.

A Chevy small-block is a Chevy small-block, but I wonder about emissions and electrical connections, etc., etc. There will always be that 'extra part' or 'something missing' that will stump you - or a situation where things just don't line up.

Best of luck with it!!
