Default Active Fuel Management

Is there a way to disable the Active Fuel Management system on a 2007 Silverado with the 5.3 V8. I am trying to install Glass Pack exhausts and there is a loud kick back when the transmission drops down to the 4cyl setting.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Thanks

I believe I have read where it can be done through a custom PCM tune( Wheatley, Wait4Me, etc... )but there is nothing you can do as far as turning it off through a process in the truck itself.
