Adding Cruise Control to 2004 3500 w/t

Do I need the Chevy Silverado 3500 Turn Signal, Wiper, and Cruise Control Switch Lever or the 250-1729-TB 2003-2006 Chevy Silverado V8 & Diesel OEM Cruise Control Kit to add cruise control to my pickup. I have read that if it is an '04 or newer, you just need the switch and not the kit or harness. Just want to know before I buy the wrong part. Any help is appreciated
