Default Advice on lifting a 2500 HD 4x4

Looking for some input, I'm not sure which direction I should go.
Want to put new tires/wheels and lift my 2010 2500 HD 4X4 Duramax. Dont want to lose the towing capacity, handling, stability or performance. Truck is a crew cab and a Z71 model.
I'm thinking of a 2.5 or 4" lift with 18" wheels and a 33" inch tire.
I will be towing a 5th wheel in the future and want a lifted truck but still want the towing capacity and handling. Don't want to put much more into the suspension then a lift.

just do a 3 inch body lift if ya dont want to change the suspension characteristics... and it will fit 33s no problem

That's a hard one. I guess it depends on how big your trailer is, and how much it weights. If it is a big, heavy trailer I would say leave it stock. But I guess it depends on how bad you want to lift it. If you want something bad enough it will happen no matter what.

FWIW make sure you extend the driveshaft when you install a lift kit
