backup cam
I have a 2008 Silverado LTZ Bose with nav. What do I have to do to get an aftermarket backup cam to work on this truck. The nav system does not have any markings on the front of it.

RE: backup cam
Needs to be turned on with a TECH2 connected to the GM TIS 2 WEB (GM's programing web site). You would have tell the radio it is a 07 (there is no back up camera in the 08 1500 programing).
You would also need to wire into one of the plugs in the radio.

RE: backup cam
One of my vendors has a kit for the gm's to add a backup camera. Comes with the plug for the radioand camera and mount. I will check to see if they have the kit for the tailgate handle ready......I have the tahoe version and it looks stock........The radio will need to be unlock to make it work.

RE: backup cam
I am in the same boat. I have the nav but no camera I have read through this https://chevroletforum.com/m_14877/tm.html about a million times and have found that getting a kenwood backup camera and a $25 harness from jpcustoms is impossible because jpcustoms does no longer have a website. On ebay they have a kit for $289. I don't know if it is legit and what I would need to have to get it to work. When I bought the truck in July I wanted the Nav dvd and the backup camera but there was only 1 truck that was close to meeting my demands and this had all of it but the Navigation that plays dvds and the backup camera. You would think there is something out there to be able to make the Nav unit 66 play dvds like the nav 67 unit.
