Front leveling kits

Hey guys, I first want to thank all you most knowledgable people on this forum who help us other guys out!

My question is, I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 4x4 and I want to get the front of the truck leveled with the back. I hear all about the torsion bar keys that level it, but I don't see where they would go in my configuration. I've heard that since my truck has 4 wheel drive capability, it does not have the keys therefore that setup cannot be used to level the truck. What system or kit can I use to level the front end, and what are the max size tires I will be able to use before running into problems?

Thank you!

you should have torsion keys, I believe they didnt take out the keys until the nnbs 07s...my friend has one just like yours and he leveled the front with the back and is runnin 295/70/17 bfg all terrains and had little rubbin

Well, after your reply, I went outside with my flashlight to do some more investigating. I probably should have asked in the first place where the keys were located, but after looking a little harder i've found the keys. I didn't think to look near the middle of the truck. I was thinking it would be on the end nearest to the Front Axle. You mentioned that your friend leveled his '06 and put 295/70/17's on it. How does that look? What did he do to correct the rub? I've got stock 265/70/17 which are nearing the end of their life. I want to use the leveling to also give the truck a little bit of a lifted look to it. What is the max height of the tire I can use whether its with stock wheels or with a new tire/wheel combo.

it looks great...it doesn't sit as high as mine because mine are cranked more than his kit will allow. I think he got a 1.5 inch kit while mine is 2.5(both readylift) but max height he could fit was the 295/70/17(lil bit taller than a 33) and it looks perfect, not crammed or to small. all he had to do was trim the front panel a lil and then the back a touch and it was golden. Max recommended height is a 33x11.5 but with the right tire you could probably get a 34x11.5 on stock rims in there which will also lift it a lil more, you just can't lift the front to much or the back will look like it sags bad

Ok, well I'm looking at getting the RC kit with new shocks. Also I was wondering if those tires will fit on a stock 17 wheel. I'm also looking at the bfg a/t but @ 285/70/17 will these fit a stock wheel?

yeah those will fit on the stock 17...i had them on my stock 16s and my friends are on his stock 17s
