I know.. Another Instrument Cluster!!

I have a 2004 Silverado 4.8L. Here recently my instrument cluster went completely out, no digital info, no gauges, just the background lights. I had problems with low voltage before this, I replaced the battery and when I started the truck nothing came on the cluster. So have I been another victim of the crappy clusters or is it just a relay or power problem?? Any info would help me out. Thanks.

go to your local dealer,i work at a dealership and there is a special policy on clusters for MY 2003-04 and if your in the states also MY 2005

I've heard about the 7 year under 70,000 policy for the coverage of repairs.

I checked with my local dealer, and it is $600 to replace and reprogram my cluster. Seems like there would be an easier less expensive way.

im not familiar with all the newer truck, but check connections and try leaving the battery unplugged for a little while to see if it might reset/fix the problem. what about fuses?

special policy 7187,it does have up to a certain mileage but we were still covering them after the mileage.

The truck I'm having problems with is a 2004 Silverado with 102,000 miles. Would this one be covered?

sanchin Oct 22, 2009 5:36 PM

it should be covered i know we are covering them regardless of the mileage.

Hey Sanchin, where is the dealership that you work at? If your dealership would cover my truck i would ship the cluster to you and cover all shipping charges. Or does taking the cluster out disable the truck??
