Key fob and key questions
 

Hello all, recently I purchased a 2010 gmc Sierra that came with remote start and all that fancy stuff. A week ago I went into the hardware store to have some spares made and they said that they have computer chips in the keys...wich I knew. My question is usually when I lose my keys the fob goes with it. When I pull the spare from under my truck without the key fob...will it work? The key starts the truck but someone told me the fob has to be with the key? Any clarification would be appreciated!!

you don't have to have the fob to start the truck
i make keys for these and program them
if you don't have the fob to unlock the truck
the key will unlock and start it
if the key is programed
