I had a 2000 and a 2006 with the same problem. Had the 2000 greesed but it came back shortly after. The 2006 I didnt even bother to fix and now I have a 2007 that never had the problem.

if you have trouble getting an intermediate steering shaft for your silverado you can get this part from TMCTRUCK.COM for about $80. if that's what you really need. i bought one from a local parts dealer only to find out (after removing the whole thing) that it wasn't what i needed.(and most of you probably don't either) all i need is the factory nut and bolt setup that holds the upper and lower intermediate shaft together. i have a regular bolt in there and it has too much play!

Unless I'm missing something dude owns the site tmctruckblahblahblah.com and he get's on forums and post it telling folks they can get their part there but he is really just wanting them to click on something so he can get advertising dollars.... I went there and didn't find what he said was there....

First the dealer lubed the 2004 and the 2005. Lasted 10,000 miles. Dealer then replaced with another GM factory part. Same junk. Went to NAPA bought 2. 30,000 miles later no noise. Pretty hard for GM to say it's there fault, even though it is.
