Low air flow on A/C

I get a very low amount of air coming out of my A/C when on any speed. The switch works fine and I hear the fan which sounds like is it blowing hard. Just not getting the air.
2000 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab.
Thanks for any help

time to change the cabin air filters, under the dash, on the passenger side

I doubt if that is it but I will check. I will do that and see if it helps. It has had the low air flow since I bought it with only 20K miles on it.
I had the same issue with my last Chevy Silverado so I just kind of assumed their A/C sucks. Then I found out differently on a truck like mine. Now I
want the higher air flow.
Thanks

The only way I could get decent air flow out of my 01 was to totally remove filters and leave them out. Normal air flow after that.

how drastic was the change in air flow? Mine is really sad.

From a choked down air flow to a normal air flow. Takes a couple of minutes to do and you will see marked improvememnts right away. :)

Low air flow on A/C

While you have the filters removed, check for critters that may have "nested" in your plenum.

you guys were right. Wow, what a blocked couple of filters. Now I can freeze myself out. Thanks for the help. You wouldn't believe how many of us didn't know there was a filter in there.

if you deal with alot of dirt where you drive you better leave them in, otherwise you'll have to figure out how to clean the evaporator, its just best to replace them, not to leave them all the way out, i just had the hvac out of a mid 90's chev and it was so plugged i had to replace the evaporator and the heater core. then i blocked off the clean air door and mounted a cabin filter at the bottom of the recirc air supply, the temp coming out of the vents was 36 degrees and i dont have to worry about doing it again, but this was on a kodiak grain truck and everything gets full of dirt so i was left with no choice
