Need info on leveling kits..
I am currently looking to level off the front of my silverado 1500.
Does anybody know anything about this? What is the difference in kits? Ive seen some kits that are just the front and some that are the front 2.5" and the back 1" What kind of info can you guys/gals give.. Thanks.. |
whats the year of the truck? is it 4wd? or 2wd?
Its a 2010 4x4.. ive heard of leveling off the front end but then i sent an email to a guy and he sent me a email back with a 2.5" for the front and a 1" for the back.. what would be the reason for raising the back?
with the 2.5" levelin kit it'll make it sit higher in the front and your truck will lean back...put the 1" block back there and it will level it off with the front end
Thanks, but it was my understanding that you would have to just raise the front and the truck would be level.. or am i out to lunch?
depends on what size leveling kit you get...put your truck on flat level ground and measure the distance from the ground to the middle of the fender on all 4 corners and see what the difference is between the front and the back..then choose what leveling kit you want...i think a 2" kit will be perfectly level means how the 1.5 leaves a little rake and the 2.5 needs to have the back end raised

I installed a Rough Country 2 inch leveling kit on my 2010 silverado. It was easy, and the truck sits nicer now
much easier than most people think, does it sit level now?
I do like the simplicity of the rough country kit.. just have to find where to get it in canada and the price has to be right...I was thinking of going for the 4 or 6 inch kit but i think thats going to wait a couple years..
rough country makes pretty good kits for relatively cheaper than most other companies...I'd go with em if I got a lift kit
