I have had my 1999 Silverado 5.3, extended cab, 3 door, long box with 4 wheel drive for about 6 weeks now with 218xxx miles on it and am getting around 19 mpg. I don't put that many miles on it now seeing as I'm retired but I have checked the mileage for the 3 times I've filled it up. It ends up being 19.1 something something. I can live with that. I might add that it runs like a champ. No noise or leaks anywhere.
