Default new intake on a '72 with a 350

My father is looking to put a new 4bbl carb on my brothers '72 1/2 ton chevy pickup, so I have just a couple of questions.

1. The truck is stock, what is already there?
2. Will we need to change the intake manifold? Would a spacer work? or will the stock manifold work?
3. what kind special stuff will the new carb have to accomidate? i.e. valves, vaccum lines ect?

Thanks

Thats the problem, I don't know what is on there. But in doing some looking around, I found that we can just put an adapter spacer on and then put just about any 4bbl carb on it, which is what they are wanting, something cheap.

well can you take a picture with the air cleaner off and e-mail it seabee2@mchsi.com if you are bound and determined to use a adaptor ,you might not have to if it is a quadrajet ,just get a spread bore holley or carter afb . if it,s a 2brl it not worth it or possible .
