Pull the top off the carb, if there is no gas in the float bowl, replace the filter. To check the pump, remove fuel line to carb, with a can or something to catch it, crank engine (I assume it is a mechanical pump). If you get gas, it isn't the pump.

i cant remember off the top of my head. but its either 45, or 50-55 psi... if it is not there then you do not have enough fuel pressure for the car to start. check your fuel filter, although it will most likely be the pump.

45 or 50-55 psi would be for fuel injection. For a carb it would be 6-7 psi. If this truck sits outside then climb underneath it starting at the tank and have a look. If it has an electric fuel pump it could be as simple as a critter building a nest on top of the tank knocked a wire loose a chewed on the rubber part of the fuel line. Maybe dry rot from heat and age. Change fuel filter.
