Pitman arm removal

I have a 98 GMC 1500 4x4 and am trying to remove the pitman arm. There is not enough clearance underneath the stud to fit a puller and that sucker is on tight. Any suggestions? Thanks

Pitman arm removal tool. Most parts stores rent them
