Spark Plugs For Best Fuel Economy On A Chevy 4.8L??

I see on TV that the E3 spark plugs will improve Fuel Economy, is this true?? I need to do a tune up anyway, so what are the best spark plugs that will increase fuel economy on my 07 Chevy 4.8L Truck??

just stick with the ac delco plugs...they won't crap out on you're truck and are the best for it

The auto shop said they have hotter plugs. Will this make a difference?? There are different ones here made by AC Delco : http://www.summitracing.com/search/Brand/ACDelco/Part-Type/Spark-Plugs/?Ns=Rank|Asc&autoview=ProductName&gclid=CLmo2-qh46YCFY9l7AoddmYg3A

What one is best for my vehicle??

E3's are junk. Just stick with the AC Delco plugs. You can't go wrong with them.

Agree that AC Delco is the best bet.... if a plug could put more mpg in any vehicle the vehicle manufactures would be using them....

how do they test and measure spark plug performance? I have seen difference in spark plug life but zero performance differences. Some people say certain brands don't perform well in a chevy; I haven't seen it. for my own vehicles, I do use the oem plugs. unless the price is outrageous i prefer oem parts over aftermarket. I don't want to do back and do the install twice.

I bought a used 4.8L gmc sierra. old plugs with center electrodes worn to the insulator...did not misfire. Installed new plugs...no noticeable difference.

as long as there are no misfires you probably won't notice a mpg difference. for ignition coil life don't run the plugs too long...big plug gaps make the coil work harder.

They normally test and measure spark plug performance based on different top-quality components used like the types (copper, platinum, iridium) and its physical characteristics. For example, if there’s a more efficient burn therefore they get a better throttle response. (something like that)

The E3 spark plug has its traditional features with improving electrode design. They say it has a special ground electrode that has the benefits of better fuel efficiency.

For example, Platinum has a stronger spark than copper plugs but then you would also have to consider the product cost. It boils down to your own preference that suits your needs. I can see that different types of plugs (copper, iridium, platinum) have their own characteristics just like it has its own personality.

I ran across an article with an extensive list/comparison of different plugs that might help you find the best spark plugs that will increase fuel economy on your 07 Chevy 4.8L Truck
