A Tale of Two Keyless Remotes

Long story short, I took my worn keyless remotes for my 04 Silvie to the dealership, they told me:
1)60$ per unit.
2)50$ additional to reprogram my truck.

Not like I've ever been screwed by a dealer before, but after they told me it would be 237$ for a jack HANDLE(alone) once, I decided to do some double-checking.

I found sites on the net which will sell you rebuild kits(This is a very easy fix) WITH the new battery, and no reprogramming for less than 15$ per unit, postage included.

The casing is a thick clamshell, and the collapsed buttons are attached to it. The small PC board and battery inside are easier to switch than opening your mail.

So for less than 30$, I drove away whistling.

Google something like "remotesandkeys", good luck.

Do a google search for factory key fob reprogramming. Places like dubdubdubdotprogramyourremotedotcom

Takes less then a minute to program your vehicle and is FREE!!
