Default 97 Lumina Front Strut Replacement

Before I tear everything apart again... Any advice would be helpful...

I just replaced the front strut cartridges in my 97 Lumina LTZ. I'm not entirely sure I tighted the strut rod lock nut enough, as the replacements (Gabriel G44459) only have a 10mm flat to work with against a 7/8" lock nut. (It sure would be nice if the replacements came with the same T55 end on them)

I now have what sounds like loose front end components (duh..)

My question is: Is it more likely that thecartridge cap nut isn't fully seated allowing the cartridge to bounce in the tube (100 ft/lbs)
Or, more likely the upper lock nut isn't fully seated.. as previously stated 10mm vs 7/8", I just bentthe 10mmwrench.

Thanks for any advice...
