Default need help on 86 chevy suspension

i just put in a 6 inch rough country suspension lift and im having trouble connecting the bottom of the shock to the bracket on the rear axle.. do i have to compress the leaf spring to put it in or what? i need some advice thanks!

Do you have the correct shocks that go with a 6" lift? I've got a 4" Big Dicks suspension lift on my 91 K5 and never had any problems.Your shock might be to short for the lift.
