07 passenger mirror quit working

Has anybody else had a problem with their power mirrors stop working? It will move side to side but it won't go down or up at all. I will be taking it to the dealer next week to see what they say.

Sounds like a possible faulty mirror control pad.
Make sure that you have the dealer check for the latest DDM and PDM calibrations as well before they attempt a repair.

You can hear the motor trying to push the mirror down but it won't work. I have it set where it will go down when I back up and that is how I noticed that it quit working. The driver side mirror works fine with no problems at all.

Then obviously a bad motor or drive in the passenger mirror, thanks for telling us the whole story.

I have the same issue on my 07 Tahoe, but with the driver's side... Bad drive?

sdfd504, was your dealership able to fix the issue you are having? Also what was causing the issue (if they were able to fix it for you)? Thank you for your time.

Chevrolet Customer Service,
Talked to my local dealer today they advised me that the diagnostics time they would charge me to T/S the problem would exceed the cost of a new part. Seems like it is a probably a software issue since it didn't act up until I activated the auto tilt parking assist function. Have since disabled this function & pulled the battery terminal off to reset the electronics. No help so far. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Tell them not to diagnose it , just change the part!

Normally I would bu,t I don't want to have them change it only to find out it is software or something..... I am hopeing (perhaps in vain) that there is some one on the forum that can help point me in the right direction to T/S this stupid thing. I will prob end up buying a new one & gutting the old one to see how it works anyway... So no worries.

I believe that if you can hear it clicking then it will not be an electronic issue. This will be a mechanical issue. Sounds like the drive may have popped out of the rail/guide. However I have never pulled a mirror off the mount pad. So I am not sure what needs to happen to verify this.

Hope it helps.

bic_21, unfortunately the only sure fire way of knowing what the problem is would be to let the dealership diagnose the vehicle or possibly taking the mirror apart yourself (which I don't entirely endorse). I hope that you are able to get this issue fixed.

Thanks all have an appointment Tomorrow morning I will have them look at it. My parts guru is convinced it is a latched fault code. I will post the results.

I have an '07 and the only thing that still works IS the mirror controls and the driver's side window control. Very frustrating, but so many of the interior parts have broken or just quit working that I'm amazed the mirrors still work...

Plus if you go on youtube there are a lot of videos on how-to for do-it-yourself part replacement.

longtime chevy man, are you working on the issues you've described yourself? Thank you for your time.

I will buy the guts & do the surgery. Can't be worse than rebuilding a CF 34.. Thanks for the in put guys...

Quetranpa, Thanks for the offer but, mine are painted to match the body and it doesn't make sense to buy a whole mirror when all I need is the guts. Maybe adfd504 would like it but I will have to pass. Besides, I am debating on using this as an "oportunity" to get some towing mirrors. :D
Good luck with the sale!
