2001 Suburban 1500 wont idle when cold outside
My wifes 2001 Suburban 1500 5.3 litre will start fine for a few seconds then just dies, the only thing that works is that she starts it and immediately takes off real fast to make it not die. It only does it when its real cold outside, if it is warm out it will idle fine. Please help lol

Fuel pressure is good, replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor which is also part of the IAC, cleaned throttle body and replaced the TPS. Also ran Lucas fuel injector cleaner through it still no difference.

Did you check the voltage @ the TPS? Also I think but other here can correct me but I think the ECM has a re-learn period of time after replacing those items.

Yes it has 12 volts at the TPS sensor and i did all this at the end of last winter when it started doing it then it got warm and i put it off to long now its cold again and its back lol im gonna put intake gaskets on it this weekend see if that helps ive seen alot of other forums on the net with ppl having the same problem and intake gaskets are the fix for them. Ill keep everyone updated in case anyone else has this problem.

Don't tell people over at GM full size that intake manifold gaskets are a common problem. They'll respond like you're crazy. I'm curious about on your truck is when it's cold out what your ECT sensor reads. If it gets skewed enough it may be enriching the fuel trim so much that its just too much at idle. Intake manifold gaskets are not a bad start though. You can also try spraying brake clean around intake manifold when you start it cold and see if that helps keep truck alive before it stalls.

Just to let everyone know that putting a new good set of fel pro intake gaskets on fixed the problem. I have had the new intake gaskets on since saturday of last week and have not had a issue with it when its cold on start up so anyone else having this same problem put intake gaskets on it. it took me about 3 hours from start to finish for intake gaskets not a bad job at all!
