2005 suburban AC blows hot air on drivers side
 

My 2005 suburban just began to blow hot air out the drivers vents while onAC. The passenger vents still blow cold. To correct the problem I have to shut off the vehicle and restart. Happens intermittently. occurring more often now

Probably a bad blend door actuator. They are made of plastic with plastic gears and they tend to break as they get older.

This is interesting, my 05 2500 is doing something very similar.
The only way I can control driver side temps is to turn the controls off.
This will close the damper or valve but if I turn the heat control up it will not go back down.
I have replaced the heater controller but no luck.
I'm trying to look for a schematic of what is inside the heater box

My 05 Tahoe does the same thing. I have to pull over, turn car off and turn back on. This works most of the time. Anyone have a solution? Is it a bad blend door actuator????(oldchevy)

Since it starts to blow cold air after a restart, maybe not. It is still a good possibility as it fixed my problem several years ago.

Hey there, we have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. Well looks like we’re having the same issue as a lot of you out there. Hot air passenger side, cold air driver side. We’ve replaced the actuators with no results. Any other ideas on where to go from here? Those things are a son of a gun to get in and out so it’s pretty disappointing to put all that time effort (and ruffed up knuckles) and get no results. Appreciate any other ideas!

For our 2005 Yukon, I bought/installed a Dorman actuator, then had to use instructions to get ECM to recognize it. There were 3 actuators, just replaced the one. At least it's worked fine for 2 years now....

On our 1994 Suburban, cost about $400 to have a shop do similar a decade ago.
