Default 2006 ‘burb OEM radio ejects CD’s after battery change

new member here looking for a little spiritual guidance to troubleshoot his factory radio with 6 disc changer and Bose sound system. I replaced the battery in my Suburban and now the cd changer spots the cd’s out. I load them like the manual says, it sits and thinks about it for about 5 seconds or so, then says disc error and spits it back out. These are the same discs I have had in the changer for over a year, no problems until I changed the battery.
in addition, I cannot access the satellite channels from the rear controls for the mid seat passengers.
the radio works fine, did not even lose my presets, and I can access satellite channels from the radio itself, just not the rear console.

i would rather replace the car before investing in a new radio system, so I hope someone out there can hel with an inexpensive fix.
