Default sync

I'm sure the sync has issues as well, but it is 10x more powerful. Hell you can run remote desktop from it and control your PC from the dash! that's nuts! It can control via bluetooth your media player. it will call 911 FREE for you if your airbags go off. it does weather and gas prices. GM = 8 track Ford = DVD.

Yes addresses can be entered manually and yes I can press the bookmark i have on the bottom for 'home' but the point is that it is an advertised feature that should work. I drive to a new address almost every day M-F... and after I am done at that address I want to go home... and thats when it never works.

As for the lockpick / entering destinations while rolling... put a switch on the VSS wire... $2.00 mod.

Switch OFF = enter destination, then turn switch back on.

You won't be able to watch DVDs moving, but I only want to enter destinations.

I have NOT personally tried this mod, but I hope to at some point. I have read it works well with GM, Toyota, and I think on the nissan forums...

Has GM done anything for you? Mine goes in for the first time this week. I described the "no voice tags stored" problem and the SM said he hadn't heard of it, but I'm betting no one has complained. I sent an e-mail from my work account and included my VIN. Zilch. Nothing, and it's been a week.

This might be a waste of time, but my '09 went in for its first service and before I took it in, I explained this issue to the SM. He suggested I hit the On Star button first and explain the problem. Nice person said no, we can't help, let me connect you to GM customer assistance. Next person was almost unintelligible (I'm guessing from India), and said, sorry, I need to get you in touch with a Nav specialist. Third person was a nice lady named Stephanie that was helpful but no help. I told her I know how to use it, it works fine in my '07 LTZ. She listened and guessed that yes, it's probably a software issue, definitely not the Nav disc, but could be hardware related. I told her where it was going, gave her the name of the SM at the dealer, and she told me she would follow up with both me and the dealer. The dealer just called to tell me that they are replacing the entire Nav/radio. I have to bring it back next week after the new head unit arrives. I'll update you then.

Red face Yes

Please do keep me/use in the loop! They would have put a new one in mine, however they said all the 09s on the lot are/were doing it.

I filed a complaint w/the BBB Friday...

I still have a rattle in my damn driver's door, after 6 trips to the dealer... I guess I will be just taking it apart myself now...

Will do. The new head unit is supposed to be in this afternoon. If it shows, I'll bring it in tomorrow for the swap. I had a door rattle in the '07 when I got it and it wasn't anything in the door, it was the latch that was replaced and it hasn't made a sound since. Hope this helps.

If possible, get the part# of the head unit they are putting in (if it works of course) I am interested to know if they are installing 2010 models now.

Thanks

Finally got the new head unit and.................................it's now like STS's. Mine NEVER worked, no matter how many times you tried it, running or not, just re-started or not. Now, it works 1-2% of the time. I'm beginning to think it's a problem with voice recognition, something that isn't a part of the head unit. Obviously the radio presets and Nav info was gone being a new unit, but the voice tags I had stored for phone numbers were still "in the truck", so they are stored somewhere else.
