97 Suburban fuel problems help needed

I was driving my 97 suburban and it was running fine, I felt a slight jerking motion and then it was fine again. I parked the truck and when I went to start it again it wouldn't start. Sounded as if no fuel is present. I pulled the fuel filter and had gas at both ends of the filter. Looked at the fuel pump relay and it dosn't appear burnt or damaged. Is this in fact the fuel pump or could this be a relay issue and if so how can I test the relay or test to verify fuel pump is at fault?

Any help would be great thanks

jpm1207: Welcome to the forum.

I'd check the fuel pressure.

welcome to the forum...

If this is your original fuel pump then i'd be willing to bet its gone.
If you don't hear it fire up when you first turn the key to start but don't crank the fuel pump is most likely out...
