Alarm Problem 07 Tahoe - They broke into my truck!!!!

RE: Alarm Problem 07 Tahoe - They broke into my truck!!!!
I'm sorry if this is going to be a repost on my part, but http://www.jimmijammer.com/Product,%20JJ.htm My understanding is, if your alarm is armed and you use your key to open the door, the alarm won't sound. It sees that the lock has been turned with the key. When your driver's door lock is pulled up by a jimmy, it in effect is the same thing. It thinks the key turned it. At any rate, whether my understanding is right or wrong, $65 is a small price to pay to protect your truck.

If the slimjim turned the lock cylinder, I think this would be true. If it simply pulled the button up to unlock, then the alarm should go off.

ZX: Does this mean that if you get out and close the doors and then lock with the RKE, the alarm is not set?

No, the RKE, key or power lock button all will arm the alarm.
If you have a thief that is going through the trouble of punching holes in your sheet-metal the jimmijammer isn't even going make them scratch their head for half a second. State Farm is there…….

Dave, since there have been changes to the manual that aren't out yet, could you please lay out the exact options for setting the alarm? What do you need to do fro ecah method, key, rke, button. I've used the door button and no alarm, or at least no light in th dash to say so.
