Black Bowtie for front and back
anyone have an idea where I can get the black bolt in Bowtie for a 2007 Tahoe LT?
|
I removed mine on the '07 and painted them both. Lot cheaper than aftermarket if you can even find one.

I did the same as 73shark but with white.

Thank you guys, I got the front one just about done. The rear looks much harder.
I used Black Mercury (Boat Motor) paint. 3 coats primer, 3 coats black, now comes the clear. I am going to do 2-3 coats clear. Looks great, so far. |
If you mean the rear is hard to remove, just use fishing line or a credit card. There adhesive is a rubbery mat'l. Don't bend the bowtie very much as it will break.

I have a 08 silverado and i have glossy paint because, i wax it regulary. I want to paint my bowtie the same glossy paint as my color on my truck and Not flack black. What paint should i use?

Welcome to the forum.
I used Krylon Gloss Black on top of a adhesion promoter and then a clear coat. Duplicolor would work. You'll need to color sand and buff to get rid of any orange peel. |
Is there anything else but adhesive holding on the rear bowtie? I just want to take mine off my 08 Suburban.

All trim nowadays is held on with 3M automotive tape. Heat the bow tie with a hair dryer set on high. Don't overheat.. and remove it slowly. you can use a thin plastic putty knife to help lift. The excess glue can be removed with bug and tar remover.

Actually the rear bowtie is held on w/ an adhesive. Monofilament fishing line is the best way to get it off w/o risk of breaking it.
The front one is held on w/ two 10mm speed nuts and a small amount of adhesive. |
