Disable sensor on low beams
Any idea how to disable the sensor that turns on the lowbeams to a 07 tahoe? Any information would help greatly. :)

RE: Disable sensor on low beams
My most radical thought would be to simply unplug it at the sensor (or just remove the sensor completely.

RE: Disable sensor on low beams
Where would the sensor be located?

RE: Disable sensor on low beams
It's that little greyish dome in the center of the dash where the dash meets the windshield.

RE: Disable sensor on low beams
Any idea on how to disable that without ripping up my dash board? Do you know if there is a fuse I can pull instead?

RE: Disable sensor on low beams
Why do you want to disable?

RE: Disable sensor on low beams
Because I have a set of HIDs that I don't want to burn out. I want to be able to turn on my headlights manually.

According to the Tahoe manual (page 209)...
Turn the control to this position to turn off the automatic headlamps and daytime running lamps (DRL). Turning the headlamp control to the off position again will turn the automatic headlamps or DRL back on. Now last time I checked, the off switch is a momentary switch... get the top of the dash apart is easy...u need to pop 6 clips and it will come right off...i would use a plastic panel popper to get it off though this way there is less chance of you scratching the dash...
