DISK READ ERROR- Help!
I have a 2008 Chevy Tahoe and when I put a music cd into the music drive of the navigation unit, it reads "DISK READ ERROR"
The CD is a music cd, is clean, and not burned. Any ideas how to remedy? |
Try a CD cleaner disk.
|
Are you putting it in to the correct slot? Reason I ask is you said navigation unit, not radio or CD slot....

Do any CD's work? What color is the back (opposite side of the label) of the disc? Louis GM Customer Service |
Try the CD in another player to make sure it is a good CD and plays.
|
Hey guys I the CD back is silver, and it was an original copy, not a burned disc. I also tried several music cds. I also tried a disc cleaner and that did not work. I have accepted the fact that it is not repairable.
Thanks for your help! |
It is repairable. Is it worth the cost or should you buy a new one? If you can take it apart yourself and look at it, it might just be a broken belt. If the belts are good, the part can be replaced.
