Front AC not blowing cold...
Here's a tricky one: I have a 1999 Chevy Suburban, 5.7L, V8, 120K AT. It has front and rear AC. The rear AC blows ICE cold, yet the front is barely getting cool (it's there, but the coolnees is real weak). The blower strength is still strong. I've checked the freon (R134a)and all levels look good. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks a million for reading, I'll appreciate any help or suggestions I get. ALSO: does anyone know where to get a REAL service manual for this truck? my Chiltons is waaay to vague, and really doesn't havespecific info on the Suburban. |
RE: Front AC not blowing cold...
It may simply be debris ( leaves , etc. )obstructing the air intake plenum under the cowl.

RE: Front AC not blowing cold...
Or a door open in the ducting of the front system letting outside air in.

RonH & Golfer - Thanks a million for the replies, I will investigate those possibilities. I've also heard from other people that the blend door (betwen heat and AC) is vacuum driven, and there may be a compromise to the vacuum system lines (pin hole, broken hose, etc.). Sound feasible?
