Help with modifications

Hey all,

I'm new to this forum just had a few questions for anyone that can help,

I just bought a stock 97 2 door Tahoe, was wondering if anyone had any tips on places to get aftermarket parts online or stores, I live in Seattle.

Also what other modification tips does everyone have to improve the torque and performance,

I just bought a k&n cold air intake system and waiting on it,

All the tips and leads to buy the parts will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum :)

I personally have used 1aauto for parts for my 97 Tahoe 4dr, parts were reasonable and shipping was fast..
I have also used GM PartsDirect for OEM parts, they are "less expensive" but usually get you on shipping..
Ebay has been reliable for parts as well...

As for torque and performance... start with a quality turn up of OEM or better parts i.e MSD ignition, your best bet is a tune with a chip, cost wise.
If money is no object they replace the intake and port the heads as well as adding headers, high performance cats and mufflers...

I personally think the K&N filter is marketing ploy... making more air available at the intake only works if it can escape just as fast (exhaust improvements)
The after market CAI will sound a bit better then the factory one due to the removal of the baffles and chambers...
There are some real bolt on performance improvements to be had that are not too expensive, however most only provide that improvement at the very top of the RPM range...

Welcome to the forum.

Check w/ Blackbear Performance to see if he does older models. It's probably the best bang for the buck.
