Help with overhead DVD player

I have 2004 Tahoe and have an after market radio.How do I get my overhead DVD player to play sound through my speakers?

I need the answer to this as well. I still have the factory head unit but want to change the head unit and wanted to know if it would still work. Good to know it still works with another head unit..
