improved performance chip?

anyone on the board has any experience with devices that plug into the car or a new chip that will actually improve gas mileage and performance as selected by a driver? Looking for real lessons learned on best products, anything to get better mileage out of my 2003 Tahoe Z-71 with 5.3L flex fuel.

Save your money. Check out Blackbear Performance. He can tune for power or economy.

Be cautious when choosing the right chip for your ride. Some chips are just resistors that will just fool the temp sensor into thinking the engine is cooler.

I used Blackbear for my 11' Tahoe with 5.3. I had them do a premium octane performance tune and a fuel economy tune. The performance tune livened the engine up nicely. So nice, I haven't bothered with the fuel economy tune yet. I am getting around the expected/published economy numbers for a stock Tahoe with the performance tune. I have had the tune for about 2.5 years now and no problems. Good luck!
