Lug nut torque specs
 

Hi...new member here, great site by the way.

Just a quick questioncouldn't fine it inowners manual....what is the foot lb. torque spec for the wheel lug nuts?

Since these answers show up no matter what Chevy you ask the specs for, the Lug Nut torque is listed in the owner's manual. For example: My search for Wheel nut torque for 2007 Impala came up with various opinions expressed about various models, from 100 - 140 ft lbs.

However, Owner's Manual says: 100 ft lbs (140 is the METRIC, NOT FT LBS):D

140 lbs ft is way to high straight from the owners manual it says 100 ft lbs it's 140 nm if that's what you use. DO NOT SET IT TO 140 ft lbs that's how you brake studs and send tires flying....

2000 and newer sub and tahoe with 14mm wheel studs are 140 ft/lbs

1999 and older with 5 stud wheels may be lower


for the impala owner...cars use 12mm wheel studs and are torqued to 100ft/lbs

the point being...always check the service information.
