Dumb amps can't talk to radios, they only know to turn on when it sees 12+on a certain wire......

If by "smart", you're referring to the GM LAN, the last amps to utilize that was on the last platform. None of the 9XX vehicles use amps that are on the GM LAN. Unfortunately, a victim of GM cost reduction.

Don't read too deeply.....I only said it communicates over data lines.....didn't say anything about high speed LAN.

Thanks Shawnvw for all you help with this problems of mine!!

OK my Vin# is 1GKFK66827J244360 let me know what you find so I can hopefully explain it to the Techs.

I only guessed on the radio part# and whether you have a long or short wheelbase. we're not so concerned about that though...
The 2 categories that must match are the audio and equalizer. Print this info off and see if the dealer can verify that the radio has the correct software using the tech2

You have UQA with Y91, so the selections are as follows:

Thanks I will take this to the dealer and see what they say.

I had a question after reading your post. You had mentioned to take this print out and see if the radio has the correct software. If I gave you the radio's serial number would that help in determining what software is in it? I have the serial number if needed.

Thanks again!!!

No...which software is in it depends on what the last tech programmed it at. And TIS2WEB does not keep track of which software was selected for the last programming. You have to physically connect a tech2 to your vehicle and read it

I'm doing some research on adding factory Nav to a Yukon Denali so I'm bringing an old thread back from the dead. On a Denali, I understand you need an addition wiring harness part # 19202083 to get voice prompts (not voice commands) if you don't have the RSE. Where does this plug into?

Thanks.
