more than likely what has happened, is that the dealer programed the radio wrong. there are 2 types of amps used in these things. They are what we call "smart" and "dumb" amps. A smart amp communicates with the radio via data lines. Meaning when the radio wants the amp to turn on, it talks to it over the data lines. Dumb amps can't talk to radios, they only know to turn on when it sees 12+on a certain wire......

Don't read too deeply.....I only said it communicates over data lines.....didn't say anything about high speed LAN.

Thanks Shawnvw for all you help with this problems of mine!!
OK my Vin# is 1GKFK66827J244360 let me know what you find so I can hopefully explain it to the Techs. Thanks again!!! |
I only guessed on the radio part# and whether you have a long or short wheelbase. we're not so concerned about that though...
The 2 categories that must match are the audio and equalizer. Print this info off and see if the dealer can verify that the radio has the correct software using the tech2 You have UQA with Y91, so the selections are as follows: GM Vehicle Calibration Information (selected calibration) VIN:1GKFK66827J244360 Controller:RAD Radio Audio System: RPO U3U/UVB) Navigation radio Hardware:15940102 Calibration History for: Rear View Camera Part Number CVN Description 15260991 0000408C For 2007s: For half-ton utilities, long wheelbase with RPO UVC 16001551 N/A Rear View Camera Calibration History for: Audio Part Number CVN Description 25815921 000005B2 New calibration to correct DTC B1288 setting at assembly plant 25813098 00006EF0 New calibration to correct no video from rear VSM 15917513 00006288 New calibrations to address volume and fade/balance issues. Thanks I will take this to the dealer and see what they say.
I had a question after reading your post. You had mentioned to take this print out and see if the radio has the correct software. If I gave you the radio's serial number would that help in determining what software is in it? I have the serial number if needed. Thanks again!!! |
No...which software is in it depends on what the last tech programmed it at. And TIS2WEB does not keep track of which software was selected for the last programming. You have to physically connect a tech2 to your vehicle and read it

I'm doing some research on adding factory Nav to a Yukon Denali so I'm bringing an old thread back from the dead. On a Denali, I understand you need an addition wiring harness part # 19202083 to get voice prompts (not voice commands) if you don't have the RSE. Where does this plug into?
Thanks. |
