Need to upgrade my 4L80-E to pull better

I have a 93 Chevy suburban 4x4 2500 with the 7.4L and 4L80-E transmission. My transmission is in need of a rebuild so I figure while I'm rebuilding it I might as well beef it up a bit. I work in the construction field and I'm constantly pulling heavy loads, ie.13,000lb mini excavator. So I'm wondering what would be some good upgrades to do it so I dont stress out my motor so bad. Anyone able to give me some tips? Also some inexpensive motor upgrades. Mainly worried about the transmission being as that's what's broken atm

Sorry to hear about your transmission needing a rebuild. Since you are looking at rebuilding it and you tow a lot, you may want to look at the Monster kit.

You should also take a look at the rear end on the truck and make sure that your brakes are up to the task. Also, a transmission oil cooler and make sure that you rad is in good shape. Truly, I would rather see you with a diesel, since you are towing construction equipment all of the time.

As far as the motor goes, I would start with a full tune up, if this has not been done in a while, plugs, wires, air filters, fuel filter, oil / filter, rear end, front end, etc. Then you could look at things like less restrictive exhaust, throttle spacer plate etc. Unfortunately, you can go as far as you like.

Good luck with your transmission rebuild.
