Default Are numbered remotes programmed to control memory presets?

I just bought a Corvette and the numbered fob will change the memory settings according to which number it is. My 05 Suburban remotes are numbered, so I was wondering if they have anything to do with the memory preset numbers.

Any idea what the process is for programming? Do the memory settings take place when the unlock button is pressed? If not, when?

Not really sure how to set it up, but they are numbered for a reason.

Unlock the truck w/ the fob and put the key in the ignition. Shut the door. Leave in Park.

Adjust your seat, easy exit, mirrors, pedals, radio, etc. Then on the door are two numbered buttons. Press and hold the numbered button that corresponds w/ that fob 'til you hear two beeps and release.

Repeat for the other fob for the second driver. That's it.

BTW it's in the manual.

I know how to program the memory settings...I read about it in the manual.

What I'm trying to figure out is if the memory settings will recognize which remote is being used (perhaps when you hit the unlock button) and go to those settings without pushing the button on the door. Otherwise, what's the point of have numbered remotes?

73shark answered that, unlock the door with the numbered key fob and then set the corresponding memory button in the vehicle. To check it, after setting the memory, change the seat and side mirror settings and then turn it off get out and lock it, when you unlock it again i should return to the programmed positions.

My remotes have no number on them and according to my manual you can't get more that one memory setting using the remotes thru the DIC. Jim

JimJ: What year?

If you have a number 1 and 2 button on the driver's door and numbered remotes, then you should be able to set two memory positions.
