O7 Bose System Needs Bass Help

Wondering if you had any suggestions on how I can wire a powered sub into the
factory Nav with Bose system on my 07 Tahoe. Brought it to a sound guy but (even
with adapaters) he couldn't get enough power to the sub to really push it. Real faint sound came out. You
know any fixes and or resources/places to make this happen?

if you're only running from the head unit there wouldn't be enough wattage to do anything of benefit. Do you have an external amplifier?

im with gixxer on this. your going to need an external amp to push any sub of decent quality. You can get interfaces to grab signal pre-bose amp or use a hi/lo level converter post bose to feed signal tothe external amp.

Oh I Definetly had an amp pushing the sub. The signal problem was from the head unit to the amp. The signal converter we used was not doign the job. Any body have an actaul product recomendation?

without doing what e and I propose, you'll be trying to put maybe 40watts (x4) peak, not rms, to a sub that I am sure would love a few hundred watts rms. You'll need:

line level converters
rca cables
power cable *
ground cable *
remote turn on cable *
external fuse holder & fuse *
amp
speaker wire

* These can be purchased in an "amp kit"

head unit --> line level converters --> rca's --> amp --> sub = bass
--> power cable, ground cable, remote turn on

Ok I am with you on all that. I know that theoretically that is all you need. ut trust me it does not work. There is something the Bose w/ nav unit does that does not send enough signal to the amp. Has anyone who as has actually added a sub to a factory Nav w/ bose no of a converter that works?

Here's the black box you are looking for:

http://cgi.ebay.com/PAC-AOEM-GM1416-...QQcmdZViewItem

This should provide low level outputs for external amps and maintain full Onstar/phone/nav voice/chimes.

I have two Xtant amps Imoved fromprevious 03 Yukon w/factory head unitthat are designed to take high level outputs so I didn't need the above adapter for my 07 Tahoe.

i would defintely recommend using a line driver as well to boost audio signal voltage...the signal you are getting probably isnt enough.

You would use a line driver in addition to what Snomon has suggested?

yes a line driver is always good it will take a low voltage signal like a 2-4 volt and increase to 5-8volts which will provide a cleaner signal.
