painting mud flaps

Has anybody painted their mud flaps? I have a set of custom mud flaps from the dealer on my 2007 Suburban and would like to paint them white. Is it possible? Would the paint flake off? Etc. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You might check with your local automotive paint store or a body shop. I had the GM flaps on my TrailBlazer and the rear ones had a white bowtie painted on and it didn't flake. So the factory can do it. Also seem to remember on an earlier post that the Escalade had painted flaps. You might search this forum for that.

Let us know how the painted ones turn out! Post some pics when you get them done!

Also, you might just paint the outsides. I am not sure, but the insides may chip easier with rocks and debri banging on it. I would think with the proper prep and paint job the outer sides would hold paint just fine!
