Post your Suburban MPG and what you've done to improve it!
I saw a forum post response where a user claimed to get 28.5 mpg on their Suburban (here here). It gave me the idea to see what everybody is getting in their Suburban and what they've done to achieve that shiny MPG number.
If you've modded for MPG (chip, injectors, HO, etc.) Please show off your Suburban MPG mods and what MPG you're getting! Let's see some information / links / and even pictures! As a soon-to-be new owner, I'd love to see what people are doing for MPG and to possibly replicate it. Thxxxxx! |
16-17 MPG HWY
15 Around Town |
Just purchased an '06 2500 LT with the 6.0L:
First tank 11.6 mpg with no mods. It will be interesting to see what you all have done to bring your beasts to bay at the pumps. |
Welcome to the forum.
I assume that's in town driving. What is your highway mileage at 65 mph? |
I call major BS at 28.5. Only way to get 28.5 in any Burb is driving down from the summit of Pikes Peak, with a tail wind, transmission in neutral.
My 08 2500 gets ~15 on the highway, ~12 around down. But, then again, I drive it like I stole it. Pulled the travel trailer down to AL over New Year's. Had a few tankfuls where she got about 6.5 MPG. Just got the Blackbear EFI tuner. Gonna hafta see what that thing does for me. |

2008 Burb LTZ 4x4, 5.3L
Just went from Wisconsin to California, 5000 miles total. My average was 15.5 going 75mph with 4 people and luggage pulling a small Jet Ski trailer. Last August I took a trip around Lake Michigan, 2500 miles total. I had an average of 16.8, with only me, camping gear, and the same single jet ski trailer. I probably averaged 60-65mph on that trip. All computed using the DIC. |
