Default rear axle swap GMT800 to suburban 07-08 GMT900

Hello mechanic out there. I drive a 2007 Suburban and want to replace the rear axle. Unfortunately I find nothing about the compatibility of gmt800 axles in a gmt900 rear. Maybe someone can tell me why only axles from 07-08 should be installed in my model. What are the differences apart from the gear ratio of the slightly older and newer axles.
I appreciate your expertise. Greetings from Switzerland
