Rear Wiper Arm Removal

Which nut removes the rear wiper arm? I removed the one under the cap but the arm seems tonot want to come off. Should I be taking off the larger nut near the base instead? This looks to be a no brainer, but I don't want toapply to much force to get it off and end up breaking it. Thanks in advance guys.....

The top nut is indeed the one.

Try wiggling the arm a bit with outward pull and it will come off.

I had the same problem when I had to replace the washer tubing after it broke.

10-4 on above info. The arm is sprung inward against the window. This puts pressureat an angle on the arm Stem or hub. You have to grab the arm and keep the pressure off of the stem so you can pull straight out.

I was able to remove my rear wiper arm with a gear puller but the plastic separated from the metal insert that sits on the motor shaft. It is frozen in place. Any suggestions on breaking it loose? I hesitate to use heat for fear of damaging the wiper motor. There isn't enough grab to use the gear puller on the insert. Help please

Same problem, how did you end up getting the metal piece off?

Actually, I will answer this myself, in case someone else has this problem. Because the taper fitting ring from the wiper arm is made of soft aluminum, it is easy to cut or press grooves into it. I used large pincers to pull it off. Make sure you don't wiggle because this puts stress on the shaft and the mount that is also made of plastic. I just pulled outwards with force and eventually it popped off.

Heres what i have left. It was triangle shaped, but i have tried pulling it with a wiper puller, a pair of vise grips, penetrating oil, tapping and its gotten pretty beat up in the process. Any thoughts on what to try next or do here?
starting to wonder if there's an after market motor in there and who knows if thats even supposed to come off.

That's pretty much what mine looked like. Can't tell you more than just to keep trying, but stay on the aluminum part and pull.
