Rust on frame - 2007 Tahoe

Just trying to get some suggestions on what I can possibly do to inhibit or slow down the rusting on my newly acquired 2007 Tahoe's frame/chasis.

I've found some articles discouraging the use of Ziebart undercoating because it can worsen the problem instead of helping. From what I read it says, the undercoat material can crack and allow moisture to get in between the coating and the vehicle's frame and thereby hasten the rusting process.

Thanks guys!

Not to mention blocking drain holes. Personally I wouldn't worry about it.

BTW you don't need to start a new thread when you're dealing w/ the same issue. :)

you could spra some of the anti-rust stuff on the frame...then do the undercoating... it'll be expensive tho... i think its $7 a can for the undercoating..and i think $5 for the anti rust crap... like shark said..i probably wouldnt worry about it too much

Need pics! Most the rust people refer to is oxidation of road and dust grim, think metallic brake dust etc. You really have to clean the surface to truly see if you have true rust.
When I see rust I clean with wd-40 and see if the raw metal is actually exposed. If not its usually surface dust accumulation and oxidation.

I use a spray can of ACE Rust Stop Gloss Black on everything under my vehicles (well, not the one), driveshafts, axles, frame, anything bare metal gets sprayed. Body mounts, etc etc.

I actually painted the muffler on my last jeep because it was a grey metal and stood out like a sore thumb under the black.
