Default 2009 Suburban blower motor oddness

The front blower motor on my 2009 Suburban was starting to make some noise, so I ordered the OEM AcDelco replacement. According to the Chevrolet parts finder site, the motor is an 15-81683.

I received the part last night but it appears that the the properties of the part may have changed since 2009, see the pic below. The original one (yellow blower wheel) you can see there is a cooling vent that goes from the motor housing and vents back into the wheel area. The new one, there is only a hole in the motor housing. There IS a separate vent tube available that can be mounted on it (https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/ac...se+/+pipe,6892) but this arrangement has the vent jutting out of the side of the motor a good few inches and with it on the motor, the motor will not fit in the mounting area.

Has anyone seen this or know if there is a different part number for the original one with integrated vent? The new one I received is the correct part number. The part is just, different...

Thanks for your time. -Michael
