SIR Disabling and Enabling

Hi, I am new here so be easy on me.

Would any body explain the the SIR Disabling and Enabling process to me.I have a 2003 Suburban that I replaced the SIR and need to know the proper procedures for enabling the air bag with out a explosion......

Someone here should be able to help but it may be something that the dealer has to do.
