Tahoe won't start when it's cold
Hello All,
I have a Tahoe, 5.7L 4x4 and she won't start when it's cold out. I have replaced the spark plugs and wires. That didn't work. I replaced the the fuel filter. That didn't work. I figure the next step is the fuel pump. I was just wondering if I was on the right track or does anyone have other ideas. I appreciate the help. EJ |

EJ I am sure someone else can offer up other solutions, but you seem to be doing a good job yourself by narrowing down the problem! Good Luck!! :) EDIT: I should ask what year Tahoe you have for clarification purposes. |
I appreciate the reply Chevy Freak. I have a 98 Tahoe for clarification there. The battery is approximately a year 1/2 old, and she has juice every morning until I run her down by trying to get her started. The terminals and wires also look good. Thanks Again

What kind of temp's are you talking about?
|
do you have spark?whats the fuel pressure?if you put some gas down the throttle body will it start then die,if you have good fuel pressure and spark check the resistance on the coolant temp sensor,do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds when you turn the key on
|
Did you check the fuel pressure ? Fuel pressure regulators are about $ 60.00 but I would test the pressure first before replacing the fuel pump or pressure regulator. fuel pumps are about 200 to 300 bucks. regulators are cheaper.
