Tricking Autoride on 2007 LTZ?
Okay so I think the 6" lift is too much and it turns out the 4" kits form Rancho and CST will install on an Autoride vehicle but will not retain autoride function...they replace the shocks. So I'm wondering if anyone has tried tricking the Autoride system by relocating the sensor brackets to pump the rear up say and inch or two and then use the front coil spacer 'leveling' kits in the front to raise that two inches as well to at least give a slight lift for very small money. The major issue here I guess would be whether or not the rear autoride shoks have the travel built into them to spend the majority of their time and inch or so longer than normal without damage.

Instead of messing with the Autoride, I've done quite a bit research into rear coil spacers and there are only 2 manufacturers I've found so far:
3/4" Rear by Superlift - Part No 3453: Although they show up on their website, they have not been released yet. It's about a month out and will be made out of urethane: http://www.superlift.com/Catalog.asp?P=3453 1" and 1 1/2" Rear Spacers by SuspensionMaxx - Part No SMX-15100/15150 http://www.suspensionmaxx.com/tahoe4.html I've heard they can work with autoride. I've read from other forums, you may have to lengthen the 3/8" rods if the auto leveling becomes a problem. I have 2 inch leveling kit in front and am waiting for the Superlift spacers to be released because I think the front is too high. |

Thanks! I've sent an Email to SuspensionMaxx asking if they have any knowledge if their spacers move the shock outside their designed travel length.
I also wonder if Autoride then needs to be re-programmed to account for the new static height... |

SuspensionMaxx responded and claim that neither the 1" or the 1.5" spacers should require shock modification and should not affect Autoride. Neither do the sensors need to be reprogrammed. For the short money I'm definitely going to try it.

Do these spacers bring the back end down? Will they affect ride quality? I wouldn't mind dropping my rear end about an inch to get it closer to the front, but just a little higher...nothing looks worse than having the back end lower than the front end. What spacer would get me what I am looking for...

I've tried Superlift products before and its great. They offered me a standard shock. |

I ended up buying SuspensionMaxx's 1" spacers. I'm really happy with the way it turned out except I had to buy a 8" drop hitch to be able to use my trailer! :)
