Wiring aux relay to high beam fuse?
Hi all, I have a Hella 500 LED Valuefit aux light kit that came with a pretty nice wiring harness. I want to eliminate the switch and I do not care about DRL function, and just have this system go on and off with the high-beam.
In this diagram, for the life of me, if I install it as depicted (aside from the switch/DRL function) I cannot figure out which wire(s) to hookup to the high beam fuse tap? Your advice is much appreciated, I struggle with electrical work. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/chevrol...1db7e193f.jpeg |
Self reply to save someone else some time: Using the Hella LED 500 value fit lighting kit with switch if you take the blue wire from the switch and connect that to the high beam 10a fuse tap the system will power on with the stock high beam switch.
The primary power source in the kit (the ring terminals) connect directly to a good ground & the positive ring terminal can be connected to one of the two +12v power post terminals under the fuse box cover. You can insulate wrap and disregard the other two wires going to the switch if you do not care about the DRLs for the aux kit. This way for the aux lights you draw directly from the battery with a fused connection, your switched power source (high beam fuse tap) is also fused, the entire aux system is utilizing a relay, and the stock high beam maintains its own fuse. |
