Anti-lock brake problem

I have a 2002 Suburban. For the past 6 months, the ABS system is cutting in and out. Pulsing brakes, push it to the floor and the truck doesn't stop. Not a great thing to happen! Have had two different opinions from two different mechanics.
The rear end is squealing now... don't know if it is time to trade her in. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

the sensor itself (wiring harness) can be bad. Check all the wheel bearing assemblies first though.

You must isolate the bad sensor/hub bearings. Dealers take a snapshot with the scan tool them plott the data. they them replay the snapshot and watch for the signal that drops out or drops off.
