How many miles does a tracker last?
i was wanting to find out if somebody could tell me on average about how many miles can you expect out of a 4 cylinder 4door tracker. it is a 200 model and it has 199,000 miles. i am looking at buying it but want to see if it is really worth it or not. when i looked at it the check engine light was on but it had set so long the battery was dead and had to be charged. when we first got it started it kinda made like a ticking noise which sounded like valves or something but after 5-10 minutes of runtime it quit doing it. what i am wanting to find out is with the problems mentioned and mileage how much is this vehicle worth and are they very dependable? also, how many more miles on average could i get out of this vehicle? Thanks

My brothers father-law 96 GEO Tracker had 1,001,978 before the passenger side frame rail broke from rust and most of the gauges, manual locking hubs, removable top zippers, tailgate didn't work but she still ran.

HI! New Tracker owner - lucky to score a 2000 4 dr hardtop automatic 4x4 with only 54,000 kms on it. One older gent owned it to tow begind his motor home, only he decided he didn't like the traveling life! It is the first North American made vehicle I have owned in 21 years. I hope it lasts as long as the 21 yr old Subaru I just retired.... Does anyone have any after market 'accessories' that they really find useful?

Wow you are lucky to have scored that tracker.. As for the aftermarkets, you can try ebay or craigslist. My friend's geo tracker has 250000 on it.

2002 chevy tracker 4cyl auto 4X4 with 306,430km`s and still running with minor issues:
=TRANSMISSION= -big hills it hesitates to get up to speed without ridiculously high PRM`s -big pull when shifting into gear -main seal leak that is reduced by high mileage oil and lucas oil stabilizer. =SUSPENSION/AXLES= -replaced both CV axles lower (cracked boots and dried knuckles) -control arms (worn ball joints) =BRAKES= -new brake lines from master cylinder back. (worn lines from excessive road salt on ontario roads) -wears through brakes rather quickly (partially due to my lead foot :p) Other than that, great vehicle don't see it quitting any time soon |
I have a 1999 chevy tracker 4 door with 179000 miles on it and runs great!!!!!!!!
